MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program

The MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program is underway in the Metro Atlanta Area and Tip Top Poultry was thrilled to be part of the first lunch day of the summer for Cobb County!

Thousands of children who normally eat free and reduced cost school lunches are home during the summer with little or no food. This critical situation is partly overcome with the effective MUST Summer Lunch Program. Every weekday for 10 weeks, sack lunches are packed and hand delivered to targeted locations suggested by school counselors throughout the area. Six counties are in the Summer Lunch network where staff, volunteers and donors bring daily meals to grateful children.

Last week, NorthStar Church in Acworth packed and delivered more than 1800 lunches throughout Cobb County. With such a large number of lunches needed for this effort, organizing and implementing the effort was quite a challenge. Thanks to approximately 125 volunteer families from NorthStar spreading peanut butter, counting carrots, and baking brownies, these sack lunches were able to be packed up in boxes provided by Tip Top Poultry, and hand delivered in truck beds, SUVs and minivans.

Tip Top Poultry was thrilled to partner with NorthStar Church and MUST Ministries in the effort to feed Cobb’s children.
