Chicken Rice Divan Bake


  • 1 package (10 oz) frozen broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups cooked, cubed chicken
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup parmesean cheese
  • 1/2 cup toasted almonds


  1. Cook broccoli according to package directions; drain well. Cook rice according to directions.
  2. Combine broccoli, rice, and chicken in large bowl, season to taste with salt and pepper.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Blend in flour; add milk. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until mixture thickens and bubbles.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice and parmesean cheese, fold in the sour cream.
  5. Pour over chicken mixture and mix thoroughly.
  6. Pour mixture into a greased 9 x 13 baking dish, top with cheddar cheese and toasted almonds.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
